What are the visa application requirements? All applicants are required to submit the below 5 documents.


1. Typewritten and signed Korean Visa Application Form, print on A4 size paper

2. One piece of Passport size colored picture with white background

3. Original Passport valid for at least 6 months

4. Photocopy of Passport Bio-page

5. Original & photocopy of valid visas & stamps to any country for the last 5 years

• From March 1, 2019, all visa applications without the old passports with travels within 5

years will not be accepted, or will be returned in case accepted.

This applies to all travel abroad including visa-free countries like Hong Kong, Macau,

Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and etc.


What if you lost your old passport? If you lost your passport and you cannot submit a photocopy of arrival stamps, you may write a Letter of Explanation addressed to the Consul stating the reason why you cannot submit the old passport.


Financial/Proof of Rootedness Requirements depending on your status.


FOR EMPLOYEES

1. Original Certificate of Employment

Including applicant’s position, date hired, compensation, office address, company

header, HR landline number and e-mail address


2. Original Bank Certificate

indicating the account type, balance, account opening date, Average Daily Balance


3. Original or certified true copy of Bank Statement for the last 3 months


4. Income Tax Return (photocopy)

5. Photocopy of PRC Card or IBP Card, if applicable


FOR BUSINESSMEN

1. Photocopy of Business Registration from SEC or DTI


2. Photocopy of Business Permit or Mayor’s Permit

indicating the account type, balance, account opening date, Average Daily Balance


5. Original or certified true copy of Bank Statement for the last 3 months


FOR STUDENTS

1. Original School Certificate from the Registrar’s Office

2. Photocopy of School ID

3. Photocopy of Birth Certificate or proof of relationship

5. Parent’s or Sponsor’s Financial Documents as an Employee, Businessman or OFW/Seafarer

Students may be financially supported relatives: siblings, grandparents, and aunt/uncle.


FOR OFW or SEAFARERS

1. Photocopy of Employment Contract or Seaman’s book

2. Original Bank Certificate

• indicating the account type, balance, account opening date, Average Daily Balance

3. Original or certified true copy of Bank Statement for the last 3 months

4. Photocopy of PRC Card or IBP Card, if applicable


FOR HOUSEWIVES

1. Photocopy of Marriage Contract; if not available submit an affidavit

2. Financial Documents of Spouse

3. Notarised Affidavit of Support; if not applying with spouse

If personally invited by a Korean Resident: Invitation Letter & Copy of inviter’s Passport If invited by Company in Korea: Invitation Letter & Copy of Korean Company Business Permit​

What if I don’t have an ITR?

  • Applicants who have travelled to any OECD countries within the last 5 years are exempted from ITR

  • BDO, BPI and RCBC credit card holders are eligible for Multiple-entry Korea Visa and exempted from submitting an ITR, Bank Certificate. Submit photocopy of card and latest original Statement of Account to qualify. 

  • Supplementary card holders allowed for Spouse, Children, Parents only

  • BDO Credit card holders with electronic statement should submit certification from BDO

Please note that eligible applicants are not automatically issued a multiple-entry visa and issuance of visa is subject for approval of the consul in-charge.


I don’t have an ITR, haven’t visited any OECD countries and not a credit card holder?

You can submit a notarized affidavit of non-filing of ITR or Income Tax Return. Check our Korean Visa Guide for sample format of affidavit.



How do I submit my application? Submit personally or send it via courier.

2. Send  the application via Courier Inform us about your documents especially if sending via GrabExpress, Angkas or Lalamove. For LBC or JRS, include a return pouch for passport to be sent back via the same courier.

How much is the Korea Visa processing fee? Assistance Fee: Php700 How do I pay for my visa application? Pay in our office or deposit to any of the following:

From September 9, Korean Embassy will not accept express visa application anymore due to increase of visa applicants

How do I claim my passport? You can pick-up your passport in our office or have it sent back via courier or any real-time delivery service. Check with our Visa Officer if your passport is ready for pick-up.

How soon should I apply for South Korea visa? Single-entry visa is valid only 3 months from the date of issue. We encourage you to apply within 3 months before your trip. Can I appeal if my visa is denied?  The Korean Embassy does not accept appeal for refused visa. When can I re-apply if my visa is denied? You may re-apply after 6 months from the date of denial. Important reminders before your submit your application

  • Attach a letter of explanation for documents that cannot be submitted

  • Family should apply at the same time and provide proof of relationship

  • Apply for visa prior to purchasing your airline tickets and travel services since visa issuance is subject for approval of the consul in charge.

  • Applying through a designated travel agent does not guarantee the issuance of visa.

  • Inform your HR Officer/Contractor/Bank that someone will call or email from the Korean Embassy to validate the documents you provided.

  • Do not purchase your tickets before your visas are issued and approved. International Journeys will not be liable for any unused travel products in the case of visa denial or if the release of visa has been delayed.

  • International Journeys will not accept visa application with departure date scheduled within 3 weeks from the date of submission.

  • Any request for early release, change of application from regular to expedite processing and pulling out/cancellation of application is not permitted once the submitted to the Korean Embassy.
